Could I borrow some motivation, please?

I should probably be working right now, but (as usual, whenever I bring my MacBook when I go to work) I'm not. Instead, I'm making a blog post. First of all, TYIS: let's get that up on here.

Voted last week. I swear, they try to make it difficult for college students. When I renewed my driver's license (in September), I registered to vote (so I was assured) in Lubbock county. Imagine my surprise when I showed up at the Rec, to discover I was registered in Dallas. Anyway, I had to go downtown and vote on a limited ballot, which was fine, because the Presidential election is really the most important thing.

The game on Saturday was nothing short of amazing. Watched the whole thing, start to finish, and I was definitely on the edge of my couch. Protip: beer + pizza + football = one hell of a way to spend an evening.

Working on learning the Hole in the Harper's head for CE this fall, and from a technical perspective, it's probably the most challenging piece I've had to play on guitar. Learning flatpicking (with a 1mm pick, not the 0.60mm I'm used to!) is going to take up a good chunk of time this week. In addition to that, I'm singing lead on Cariad Cywir (True Love), another first for me - I've never sung lead on anything, and in a foreign language, no less. I'm a little nervous. Also singing backup on Profiad, with Kelli.

Intramural soccer gets interesting this Wednesday, with our first playoff game starting at 7pm.

In the free time I've had, I've been working on teaching myself Lisp for Concepts of Programming Languages, and I have to admit, I sort of like it. I've never been a huge fan of emacs, but really, Lisp without emacs just isn't the same. And I'm warming up to the multipanel layout, though the whole C-x 3 C-x o C-x C-f thing just to open another file seems long. I think I could do it with C-x 4 C-f, but that opens it horizontally, which isn't what I want. Interesting side note on Lisp: a friend of mine was out of town on Friday, and asked what we had talked about in Concepts. I responded that we were starting to get into Lisp, and when he asked what it was, someone else said "too many parentheses." Well put.

lol and that foreign language is welsh nonetheless. I think it's cool that you are challenging yourself, and pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. I think you'll do good, Glen.

You sound really weird on these blogs. I know I told you this in person, but your "one hell of a way to spend an evening" didn't sound like something you would say in everyday speech.
